College Goal Sunday Announcement for Churches
New Program Is Being Implemented In Connecticut To Help Families With College Financial Aid
If you or anyone in your family is planning to go to college, NOW is the time for you to begin working on your college financial aid application. There’s a new program here in Connecticut called College Goal Sunday that you need to know about.
College Goal Sunday is a free program to help you and your family in the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the college financial aid application. On Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. volunteers from Connecticut college financial aid offices and community agencies will be available at twelve locations across CT to help you with your FAFSA and make sure that applying for financial aid does not become an obstacle that could keep you from going to college. By attending College Goal Sunday, you receive free assistance with your financial aid application, and can walk away from the event knowing you tackled one of the scariest steps in getting ready to go to college.
To learn more about College Goal Sunday, and register to attend one of the College Goal Sunday locations, please log on to www.collegegoalsundayct.org, or contact the nearest high school counselors’ office. You may also contact Ms. Ivette Rivera- Dreyer, College Goal Sunday Coordinator at 1-888-277-2270 for more information.
CT College Goal Sunday is co-sponsored by the CT Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (CAPFAA) and the CT Association of Educational Opportunities Program (CAEOP).
