SPONSORS AND PARTNERS

Funding for College Goal Sunday comes from the Lumina Foundation for Education, an Indianapolis-based, private, independent foundation that strives to help people achieve their potential by expanding access and success in education beyond high school. Through research, grants for innovative programs and communication initiatives, Lumina Foundation addresses issues surrounding financial access and educational retention and degree of certificate attainment--particularly among underserved student groups, including adult learners. The foundation bases its mission on the belief that post-secondary education remains one of the most beneficial investments that individuals can make in themselves and that society can make in its people.

College Goal Sunday CT efforts are being led by the CT Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators (CAPFAA) and the CT Association for Educational Opportunity Programs (CAEOP).

For many students, lack of information about how to pay for college has discouraged them from pursuing a post-secondary education. It's critical that students and their family gain access to the information and resources needed to help them explore postsecondary educational opportunities. With your support College Goal Sunday CT can help thousands of students in Connecticut gain access to the funding needed to enroll in college.

If you have interest in supporting our efforts to help more students gain access to college, please call us at 860-512-3382.

Thank you to our current partners!

One of the key success factors of bringing College Goal Sunday to Connecticut is the generous support of Communities and Businesses who donate financial or other support.

Scholarship Guidelines

College Goal Sunday (CGS) is a volunteer, non-profit initiative that has primary funding from the Lumina Foundation. However, local businesses are encouraged to participate in the event in order to create a self-sustaining program that will carry-forward many years into the future. CT CGS is in its last year of Lumina Foundation funding and is seeking your assistance to ensure that the help students need in accessing a college education continues.

The CGS Steering Committee has created the following three scholarship levels:

  • A contribution of $500 or more will entitle the donor to recognition on general promotional materials such as the CGS website (www.collegegoalsundayct.org), posters, etc. Typically, this level of contribution provides funding for multiple, if not all sites. Some budgeted items that might be funded include scholarships, printing, web site support, advertisements, banners, volunteer shirts, etc.
  • A contribution of $300 will entitle the donor to recognition on some of the marketing materials and at individual sites through signs on registration tables. Some budgeted items that might be funded include refreshments for participants or site materials.
  • A contribution of under $300 including individual donations will entitle the donor to recognition at individual sites through the program agenda, and signs on registration tables. Some budgeted items that might be funded include scholarships, refreshments for participants or site materials.

If you have questions or wish to make a donation, please contact Ivette Rivera-Dreyer at 860-512-3382 or by email at irivera-dreyer@mcc.commnet.edu. Your generous consideration of this worthwhile endeavor is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
